The initial idea was to set our creation in a dystopia where live performance is forbidden.

 It’s a world of unbridled consumerism, governed by the laws of the market, where wealth reigns supreme, a soulless world that deprives human beings of their shared emotions, their common narratives, and their visceral need to  reinvent themselves.

A family of travelling performers, united in their passion for poetry, music and drama struggle to keep the flame of performance alight.

Under the innocuous guise of a traveling tearoom, their big top is a sanctuary where memories and resistance are intertwined. The audience, complicit and aware of the danger, slips into this refuge for a taste of the forbidden. Together, they recreate fragments of plays and monologues stolen from oblivion, recalling a time when art could still flourish unhindered.

This play is a celebration of theater as an act of resistance, an ode to the transmission of stories and the power of collective narratives. It poses a fundamental question: how can we save the beauty of texts and artistic gestures in the face of oppression?
